Door of Opportunity, Inc. employs over 80 people and was established in 1975 providing meaningful life planning and support for individuals with developmental disabilities. D.O.O. has fourteen homes in the community and their individuals work for: The Artesia Public School System, K-Mart, Chaos Cafe, Pecos Diamond Steakhouse, Ericson Equipment, J&J Home Care and The Bureau of Land Management. We also have a sister corporation, Lending Hands, Inc. which provides personal care services for medicaid patients. The mission of D.O.O. is to support the choices of individuals with disabilities in becoming valued members of the community.

Over the last year, we have significantly increased the number of individual served, establishing new homes and programs designed to better serve the individuals. We have also expanded our employee base and are currently serving on numerous state committees to improve service provision throughout the state. In the future we will expand services in helping individuals live independently within the community and enhance employment opportunities for people in this area.
The belief of Door of Opportunity, Inc. is to support people with disabilities in reaching their highest level of independence with achieving their goals in life.
